While working with Sebastian Keys I made the observation that he looked very similar to twinky porn star Brent Corrigan. When I mentioned it to Sebastian, he had never heard of Brent Corrigan and said, "I'll have to look him up."

Last night I shot a new scene with a daddy-type, Reed Mathews, and a 21 year old boy-type, Sebastian Keys. They arrived with a plan to start the scene with an argument that turns into "makeup sex". I nixed that idea. Nobody believes "acting" scenes in porn videos and the premise just seemed too easy to be misinterpreted or just go wrong. Besides, this concept of "makeup sex" is one of those preposterous premises you only see on night time dramas and soap operas along with "temporary amnesia" and "evil twins". I can't imagine it happens in real life.
Instead we went for a bondage scene with a twist. We wrapped Sebastian in cellophane and bound him to a pole blindfolded and gagged. When Reed comes down to play with his "toy" he cuts a hole in the cellophane, gets Sebastian hard and proceeds to get fucked by the bound boy. Normally the bound partner is the submissive, but we went for the turnaround.

I am toying with a new marketing gimmick for Lavender Lounge. It just came to me last night:

That may not seem like a big deal, but think about it. How many times have you seen porn where the models don't have any kind of connection? Probably a million times!
Bigger studios juggle a roster of a zillion guys they have to fly in from everywhere and plug them into multiple scenes as fast as possible to maximize their time. When they fly someone in, they also have to pay to feed them and house them, so it costs money, so there is no time to play matchmaker.
Little amateur porn companies struggle to get enough breathing bodies assembled to shoot their little niche content in enough volume to keep the members happy. Many times marginal-looking guys are thrown in just to keep on schedule, whether the customers or the other models like them or not.
My plan is to tell models to schedule a date a time with a model of THEIR choice. That way they show up fresh, ready to go, and completely comfortable knowing who they will be working with. Scheduling-wise, it's been working so far. And I can assure you that the new stuff I am shooting has a lot of passion and intensity.

The guys at XX Factor gave my movie, Scenes From The VIP Room Volume 2 a nice review. Not glowing, but a nice review. Here's a tidbit:
In Scenes from the VIP Room 2, the box cover is a photo of Matthew White cumming on a Bible. It’s called “controversial” by director Mark Kliem, but in these desensitized times, I have a feeling that aside from your Aunt Matilda who lives in the Bible Belt, there won’t be many porn watchers clutching their pearls or overcome by the vapors watching White spew his load then lick it off the good book.
I agree it's very hard to be controversial these days. It seems only the things controversial these days is the stuff spewed by the Tea Party candidates for President. There are no sexual taboos anymore. The only thing you can do to be cutting edge anymore is be over-the-top Conservative, which is actually a conflict of terms.
XX Factor's main complaint about the movie is, though the guys were cute, they didn't seem to be "sexy" enough. Not sure what that means, but maybe they want to see more fake enthusiasm. Buy the DVD or watch the scenes for yourself in the VIP Room and make your own judgement as to what is "sexy".

Derrick and Dane Edited
I've been shooting a lot of new porn scenes lately, but what I HAVEN'T been doing is keeping up with the editing. Whoopsie. So now I am going back and getting caught up with putting the scenes together to get them ready for the new site. (You won't be able to see the scenes until they are on the new site, sorry!)
I decided to edit them in the order they were shot. That way I can follow a progression to see if I notice any changes in lighting or direction. With all these new scenes, I've been shooting with editing in mind from the onset, and it's really made the job much simpler.
Last night I finished editing the scene I shot with Derrick Hanson and Dane Coraggio back in June. Seems like a long time ago, but it wasn't really. Derrick is a real pro and knows how to get the job done quickly, so it went really smoothly. Plus, he was the one who picked Dane as his scene partner because he really wanted to tap that sweet ass. The models were not only at ease with each other, but they were really hot to trot and the result was a very energetic and enthusiastic scene.
